April 9, 2001 16:29: SIKHISM ANNIVERSARY: The Mayor of Greenwich helped launched celebrations for the 302nd anniversary of the birth of Sikhism. Councillor Jagir Sekhon, and fellow councillor Rajwant Sidhu raised a Sikh flag to celebrate Vaisakhi, at Woolwich town hall, last Saturday. The Vaisakhi Mela festival featuring music dance and song was held on Winns Common, Plumstead, last Sunday.
