The London Marathon is taking place on
Sunday 14 April this year. A contingent of Sikh runners will be taking
part including Fauja Singh, the 91 year old who took up marathon running
at the age of 89! He ran the London Marathon in 2000 and 2001 with
a time of 6 hours 54 minutes in each year. This could be a world record
in the over 90 year old age group. He will be raising money for the
children's charity, Bliss.
Other runners this year include Harmander
Singh from Ilford, London, who will be running his 17th consecutive
London marathon, again running for children's charities. Other
runners include Harbagh Singh, running his 92nd marathon and Amrik
Singh, 91, from Glasgow.
If you would like to sponsor Fauja Singh or
Harmander Singh please email for
details of how to make a payment.
