Ajit’s gold hat-trick

VETERAN Sudbury athlete Ajit Singh Kalirai was back among the medals when he won a glorious hat-trick of golds at the British Veterans Athletics Federation Indoor Championships in Cardiff for the second year running. The 73-year-old, who lives in Fernbank Avenue, took the long jump, the high jump and the triple jump - a repeat of his success of last year. Next targets for Ajit, who currently holds six British records, will be aiming for further honours later this year. He will be contesting the National outdoor championships at Windsor in June and the World Championships which will take place in Brisbane, Australia, a month later.
